Discovering the Best Coffee Shops and Most Talented Baristas in America

New York, NY - KRUPS USA, world leader in coffee and espresso machines and kitchen appliances, announced the "KRUPS Best Brew Awards 2012," a campaign introduced to discover the best coffee shops across the nation.

Following the overwhelming feedback from last year's search, KRUPS is thrilled to open up a public vote and call for entries on its Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/KRUPSUSA ) to uncover favorite local brews from New York to Los Angeles. Additionally, KRUPS is expanding this year's search to discover the best baristas throughout the country as well, inviting talented coffee-tenders to showcase their skills in order to vie for a seat on the "KRUPS Coffee Council."

"We were so thrilled with the response we received last year and look forward to bringing these well-deserving coffee shops the attention they have earned," said Michele Lupton, Marketing Communications Director for the brand. Starting Monday, January 30, 2012, KRUPS USA will begin accepting votes for the "KRUPS Best Brew Awards 2012," which will honor the best coffee shops throughout New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. On the KRUPS USA Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/KRUPSUSA ), participants can vote for one of five local shops in each city, comprised of last year's winners and overall top picks, in addition to having the opportunity to "write in" a vote for a favorite coffee shop that may not appear on the list.

Last year's winners included: MUDTruck, Gimme! Coffee, Beans and Berries, Java Den and Sweetleaf all in New York City; Groundwork Coffee Co. in Los Angeles; Monorail Espresso in Seattle; News Caf� in Miami; Metropolis Coffee Co. in Chicago; Barismo in Boston; Spruce Street Espresso in Philadelphia; White Rock Coffee in Dallas; Blue Bottle Coffee Co. in San Francisco; Dancing Goats Caf� in Atlanta; M.E. Swing Co. in Washington D.C.; and noteworthy national retailer Peet's Coffee & Tea.

Voting for the "KRUPS Best Brew Awards 2012" will be open January 30 through February 24, 2012. Winners will be announced on Monday, February 27, 2012.

This year, KRUPS is eager to expand its search by identifying the most talented baristas in these ten cities, who are interested in winning a seat on the "KRUPS Coffee Council." Entrants will be asked to submit a video demonstrating their talents to and complete a questionnaire, all of which can be found on the KRUPS USA Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/KRUPSUSA ). Submissions must be sent by February 24, 2012 to be considered. KRUPS will utilize the "KRUPS Coffee Council" throughout the year for regional events and promotions, media opportunities, new product demonstrations and more.
