Ariana Grande "Fighting for Solutions" to Concert Ticket Resales
READ TIME: 4 MIN.
Pop icon Ariana Grande, renowned for her chart-topping hits and vocal advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, has publicly acknowledged the ongoing challenges her fans face in securing tickets for her highly anticipated 2025 world tour. In a heartfelt Instagram Story posted on Saturday, Grande reassured fans that she is actively seeking solutions to the problems posed by automated bots and skyrocketing resale prices, which have made it difficult for many fans, to access her shows.
The issue of ticket scalping is not new, but it has reached a boiling point in recent years as technological advances allow resellers and automated bots to purchase large numbers of tickets immediately upon release, leaving genuine fans at the mercy of inflated secondary market prices. Grande’s tour, like those of other major artists, saw tickets vanish within minutes of going on sale, only to reappear on resale platforms at several times their original value.
In her Instagram Story, Grande wrote, “It breaks my heart to see so many of you struggling to get tickets at fair prices. You are the reason I do this, and I want everyone—no matter who you are or who you love—to feel welcome at my shows. I’m working with my team and industry partners to find better solutions so that fans come first” (Instagram: @arianagrande, 2025-09-13).
Grande’s statement was met with an outpouring of support and shared frustration from her fanbase, especially within LGBTQ+ communities who have long regarded her concerts as safe spaces for self-expression and community-building.
Experts agree that the ticketing crisis is a systemic problem requiring cooperation between artists, promoters, venues, and ticketing platforms. Some artists have implemented verified fan programs and limited ticket transfers to combat scalping, while others have advocated for legislative action to curb predatory resale practices. Grande hinted at exploring similar measures, stating, “We’re looking at new tech options and working with venues to make sure tickets reach the real fans. More updates soon!”
The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings earlier this year regarding the Live Nation-Ticketmaster merger and its impact on consumer access and pricing, with bipartisan calls for increased transparency and regulation.
Grande’s advocacy on this issue is consistent with her longstanding support for LGBTQ+ rights. She has previously headlined Pride events, donated proceeds from her merchandise to LGBTQ+ charities, and spoken out against discriminatory legislation.
