Kilian Melloy READ TIME: 5 MIN.

On Monday, Sidelines finished its weekend long celebration of its 8th anniversary with a huge cake and, of course, the sidelines 8th anniversary T Shirt giveaway. Congrats to Laurie and Jennifer on 8 years of success. On Tuesday the Miami Recognition held their kickoff party at the Shore Club where they announced this year's honorees. The party was packed which is a sure sign they will once again have a fabulous dinner.

On Thursday, The Alibi stared their four day celebration of their 17th anniversary. All weekend featured different events, but of course one of my favorites is the yearly ring presentation to employees who have worked at the Alibi Corporation for five years. This year they had eight recipients. Congrats to Mark, Jackson and the entire Alibi team on a wonderful anniversary.

Also on Thursday, Lips-the ultimate in drag dining, presented an exclusive dinner show "Never Say Farewell-Tribute to Cher" in Cher's honor as a launch party to the 11th Annual SMART Ride (Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride 2014). On Friday night the Boardwalk celebrated the birthday of my friend and Fabscout owner, Howard Marr. Lions and tigers and Adult Video Stars, oh my...enough said! On Saturday was the much anticipated opening of Mark Lowe's House Nightclub in the Wynwood District of Miami. The club was decorated over the top with every attention paid to detail. In addition, they have performers throughout the club and bartenders in aprons. Congrats to Mark on a project well done.

Also on Saturday, the Manor featured the 16th anniversary "Sweet Sixteen" of Noche Latina Florida with a huge show, hot go-go boys and a raffle with lots of amazing prizes. Congrats to the entire staff of Noche Latina Florida and the Manor on a packed event.

Island City Stage closes its award-winning second season with the poignant and searing drama "The Pride" by Alexi Kaye Campbell. Betrayal, guilt, identity and passion are at the core of drama "The Pride" as it unfolds separate but parallel love triangles among Oliver, Philip and Sylvia, which alternate between 1958 and 2008. The play explores the trio's complex, tumultuous relationships as it shifts from the repression of the 1950?s to the hyper-openness of the modern era and back again -- with both sets of characters separated by a half a century- sharing the same names but wildly different relationship issues. Added to the tension are a pseudo-Nazi sex partner, a doctor specializing in gay aversion therapy and a crass magazine editor who provide further obstacles with which the trio must confront. The production, helmed by Artistic Director Andy Rogow, features Carbonell Award winning actors Bruce Linser and Michael McKeever, Faiza Cherie (Crimes of the Heart) and Sean Dorazio (Chess). Previews begin tonight, with an official opening on Saturday, May 24. The production runs through June 22 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 5 pm at Empire Stage, 1140 N.
