Mrs. Maisel's Marvelous Tour of NYC Launches in 1950s Studebaker

New York City's tourism industry has kicked into first gear with the launch of a brand new tour that pays homage to Amazon's hit TV series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."

On Location Tours is launching the new tour offering this month. Beginning December 3, the tour company, whose operations have been virtually shuttered due to COVID-19 restrictions, will begin to roll out private tours for small groups (three and under) in a 1957 Studebaker Commander that has been featured in all three seasons of the award-winning series.

The tour comes complete with a tour guide dressed as Mrs. Maisel and a driver who will whisk fans to some of Midge's favorite haunts on the show – from the butcher shop, to the deli to the classic pre-war building she and her family live in and much more. The 75-minute tour can accommodate up to three people in the vintage car.

"During a time when TV fans cannot wait to see their favorite shows come back, we came up with an extra special offering for our ultimate Maisel fans," commented Georgette Blau, CEO and founder of On Location Tours. "We have worked hard to develop NYC touring options that would keep travelers safe during these uncertain times and the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Studebaker tour does just that – transporting passengers back to a simpler time," she added.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Studebaker tour aims to recapture some of that 1950's magic by bringing fans and tourists back to the place where the fictional Midge lived, worked and made people laugh. Tour guide and actress will lead the car tour dressed in a classic 1950's Maisel replica dress while entertaining passengers throughout their drive back in time.

Since launching On Location Tours in 1999, Georgette Blau founded ATTAM, the Association for TV and Movie Tours, the only association in existence dedicated to the rapidly growing sector of TV and movie tourism. Studies have shown that locations that have been used in TV shows and movies experience a surge in tourism after a film's release. More and more companies are starting film tours to capitalize on this phenomenon. ATTAM provides focused representation to companies around the world that run film tours.
