Elliot Page is getting ready to release an ultra revealing memoir titled "Pageboy" on June 6, and he has been opening up about everything from relationships to his long struggle to accepting his identity.

In an interview with the LA Times, Page shared that his mother, the daughter of a minister, told him that homosexuality "didn't exist." He also said that he once heard his grandmother question his father about what he would do if Page turned out to be a "dyke" after he shaved his head for a role.

Page shared that his mother eventually accepted him after seeing him so comfortable in his own skin after coming out as trans in 2020.

"I think it's really inspiring that she's changed and become such an advocate and ally," Page said. "It took her time to break out of the ideas she grew up with."

Page said he has forgiven his mother for her past statements, but his relationship with his father is still strained. They reportedly haven't talked in more than five years.

In his book, Page said that the tension in their relationship comes down to his father supporting "those with massive platforms who have attacked and ridiculed me on a global scale."

Page claimed, "When [right-wing author] Jordan Peterson was let back on Twitter after he'd made a horrific tweet about me, he posted a video, just his head filling the frame. Staring menacingly into the camera, he said, 'We'll see who cancels who.' My dad 'liked' it.'"
