A teaser for the next season of "American Horror Story" has dropped – and it reveals star Kim Kardashian in ghoulish glory, according to Good Morning America.

The 42-second teaser, which premiered July 20, "is set to "Rock-A-Bye Baby" and opens with an almost Busby Berkeley kaleidoscopic image of a spinning circle of dancers in white wigs," GMA detailed.

"Also shown in turn, wearing matching white wigs and mirrored sunglasses, are Emma Roberts, Cara Delevingne and Kardashian, who is shown at the teaser's close with a baby swaddled in her arms."

Titled "Delicate," the new chapter in the long-running show "is the first season... to adapt a book, 'Delicate Condition' by author Danielle Valentine," noted Entertainment Weekly. "The novel follows an actress named Anna Alcott, who is convinced someone is trying to prevent her from conceiving a child."

"After failed rounds of IVF treatments, she thinks she's finally pregnant, only to suffer a miscarriage... at least, that's what her doctor tells her," EW said. "Nobody will believe her, but she feels the baby still moving inside her."

As previously reported, Kardashian, who has had minor parts in films and television, will play a role that was written specifically with her in mind by Halley Feiffer, who is the first writer to pen an entire "AHS" season. Feiffer is also the showrunner for the new season.

"Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the 'AHS' family," prolific out writer and producer Ryan Murphy, who co-created "AHS" with Brad Falchuk, told The Hollywood Reporter this past April.

"Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture," Murphy went on to say. "Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."

Not everyone associated with "AHS" has been so enthusiastic. When asked by Andy Cohen during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" about Kardashian's upcoming star turn on the anthology series, "AHS" veteran Patti LuPone – who has also worked on other Ryan Murphy shows – was utterly dismissive, agreeing with Cohen that Kardashian is depriving actors of roles by taking such gigs – which was tantamount to saying Kardashian can't act.

LuPone said acidly, "Excuse me, excuse me, Kim. You know, what are you doing with your life?" Referencing a Noël Coward song about a stage mother and her talentless daughter, LuPone added: "Don't get on the stage, Mrs Worthington."

Kardashian taking the starring role isn't the only controversy the new season of the horror anthology faces. As AV Club noted, the new season remained in production even as the Writers Guild of America went on strike. In itself, that breaks no rules, assuming that Murphy was, as he claims, working on the show as a producer and not a writer. Still, "there's a lot of hand-wringing about that, as most writers argue that the writing never stops, even on set," AV Club said.

With actors now on strike as well, it's unclear to what degree, if any, "AHS: Delicate" has been impacted or if the start of the new season will be delayed. According to AV Club, no date has yet been announced for the new season's arrival. The teaser only says it's "Coming soon."
