Out pop icon Sir Elton John revealed that he's been "quietly spending the summer recuperating" from a malady that has left him "with only limited vision in one eye," UK newspaper the Guardian reported.

"I am healing," the singer, 78, said in an Instagram post, "but it's an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye."

"I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks," the "Tiny Dancer" singer added, before saying that he was "feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far."

"With love and gratitude," the pop legend signed off.

The post was met with a cavalcade of well wishes from friends and fans alike, "including the fashion designer Donatella Versace, the radio presenter Bob Harris and the actor Layton Williams," the Guardian noted.

"Take your time and recover, Elton," Versace posted. "We'll be here waiting for your return when you're healthy and ready."

REM frontman Michael Stipe took to the comments section of the post, as well, to declare, "We love you so xxxx❤️‍🩹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️".

Film composer James Newton Howard chimed in with, "Love you, Elton ❤️".

Fellow songwriter Paula Cole added, "Love and healing wishes to you, special soul🙏❤️".

"Love you Elton," echoed Roseanne Cash, the daughter of late American singer Johnny Cash. "Rest up. ♥️♥️♥️"

Australian actor Tegan Croft weighed in with her own get-well wishes, as well as a dose of humor. "Noo elton!" Croft posted. "I bet you rock an eyepatch tho like a sexy pirate".

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Sir Elton!
